Who we are:
FLOW Aquatics is a small, family owned, learn-to-swim business located in Boise, Idaho. We focus on creating a love for the water while building and maintaining a strong personal connection to the children and their families. Our philosophy is grounded in offering a new found sense of relaxation and comfort by teaching our students to swim from the “inside out”.
Position:
Swim Lesson Instructor
Who we are looking for:
Enthusiastic, energetic, and fun loving individuals who have experience with children of all ages. Understands that FLOW Aquatics is not just another learn-to-swim program and that our instructors are not just another face. That we work to create long lasting relationships with children, families and co-workers within a professional organization. Must be motivated to learn and be open to different ways of teaching young ones to swim. Must have reliable transportation. A work ethic that commits to a work schedule once established. This fun and rewarding teaching position is ideal for parents, grandparents, retirees, high school/college students and nannies that have regular schedules.
Duties:
Instruct groups of up to four children in the water, from beginners to swimmers that need to refine their stroke technique, while creating an upbeat, well organized, and safe environment. Perform daily set up and break down duties for pool operation. Attend monthly staff and team building meetings. Learn all aspects of the swim program and be willing to cross train into different areas of the business.
Qualifications:
Swim lesson experience is not necessary but highly recommended. Swimming background is crucial. Customer service experience is essential and basic computer skills are required. Must have experience with children and great communication skills with both children and adults. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with varied age groups and all team members. Ability to follow written and verbal directions and enforce established regulations. Ability to work independently, without close supervision and with safety as the first priority.
Requirements:
Complete an interview in and out of the water. Complete and pass a background check through the Idaho State Police Department. Successfully complete 40 hours of in the water and dry land training.
Hours:
Year Round Part Time Position: Morning or evening hours available (2 – 10+ hrs per week) You can work as little as one shift a week.
